Our Team

Anna - SHE/HER

What is your PACE? : Juicy… we really get to savour each pose and transition. Just remember that slow doesn’t mean easy.
What is your FOCUS? : Reinforcing the mind-body connection. The body is a gateway… to a deeper meditative experience, to learning self regulation through your nervous system, to more awareness and presence. I try to make that accessible using challenging and feel-good movement. Oh… and lying about how many more breaths we’ll be taking in chair pose.

What do you love about the TYC Community? : The refreshing lack of pretence! Everyone here, the staff, the students and the teachers are all genuine, kind humans. And that makes for a really magical environment to be a part of.

Anna believes in a calmly focused mind and wildly joyous body. Drawing on a background in psychology, massage and theatre, she aims to guide students through an embodied experience that uses fluid, thoughtful sequencing, systematic cues, touch and mindfulness to arrive at a sense of presence, empowerment and ease extending beyond the mat.

From her first class 18 years ago, she has turned to yoga as a place to recharge. “There’s a magic that happens when our breath, mind and body are in unison, even if it’s brief”. Always curious, Anna has turned to school, teacher trainings and books to deepen her understanding of the experience and how to share it.

She teaches Vinyasa, Yin, Slow Flow, Restorative, Chair yoga and Embodied Meditation classes.

When not on her mat, you’ll find her reading, riding her bike, doing the twist to old school rock tunes, or making cake for her partner, friends and fam…. Mmm cake!

Joe - Him/he

What is your PACE? : I like to keep things moving... medium to fast. Depending on the class I can slow things down.

What is your FOCUS? : Mobility, strength and finding accessibility. All the fun inversions and arm balances come after that.

What do you love about the TYC Community? : Being part of a team/a crew/a community is important to me. The TYC community has been so welcoming; everyone is just so gosh darn nice and excited to be part of the crew. It is an honor to be able to teach, move and practice with TYC. I love how our community continues to grow, how we continue to build bigger and stronger walls for support along the way and see people find their practice and enjoy the space and community we hold together.

STACY

What is your PACE? : My pace varies, I’m known to keep a bit of a faster pace, but I’m also notorious for long holds. I’m getting better at slowing things down - you should try my Slow Flow!
What is your FOCUS? : I hope to give students an opportunity for playful self-reflection and a chance to meet themselves unguarded on the mat. I love exploring how lessons can transcend off the mat, and using props to support our asana practice. Can my focus be blocks?

What do you love about the TYC Community? : I love the friendships that’ve been created! I love how loud it is between classes with all the chit-chatting going on. I especially love watching students take new students under their wing and showing them around.

Stacy is a lover of all things fitness and wellness. Stacy started practicing yoga in her teens but it wasn’t until she stumbled into an Ashtanga class that she became a dedicated student. At first the physical asanas is what drew her to her mat, but now it’s the lessons that she can take with her off the mat that have become most valuable. Never afraid to fall on her face, Stacy encourages people to try new things and move outside their comfort zone. Stacy’s classes are fun, challenging, and draws from the many styles of yoga from all the amazing instructors she’s practiced with in Toronto and around the world. When Stacy isn’t on her mat she’s chasing her young daughter or making all-natural products with her extensive essential oil collection!
